Another Axialfest has come and gone, and like year’s past it was a memorable one. We are not sure of the actual attendance numbers, but it had to be record breaking again this year. The Cisco Grove campground was literally crawling with activity! Everywhere you looked there were people driving scale RC trucks through the campgrounds headed to the various trails and challenges. This year we set out to capture a bit of the action through video and photos to show people that have never attended what the event is all about. Enjoy the recap, and if you haven’t already please subscribe to our YouTube channel.

We had our mobile hobby shop set-up all week to help keep everyone running!

Some of you may recognize this rig.

RTR SCX10 II with a handful of strategic upgrades.

RTR Deadbolt sporting a few upgrades from SSD.

The RPP Hobby Wraith rocking a bunch of custom colored goods from Vanquish Products.

Got wheels? We had an array of wheels on display from Gear Head RC.

Gear Head RC light bars for those night time adventures.

We spent most of the week shooting video on the various courses set-up around the campsite. During the first few rock races, that featured the young ones, we pulled out the SLR camera to capture a few of the moments. We had a great time watching the kids compete in their races. There was no shortage of contorted faces as they concentrated on navigating the brutally technical race course.

Lined-up and ready to go! Drivers receive final instructions before the green flag drops!

And they’re off!

Strategic navigation was needed as competitors bottle necked into certain sections of the race course.

Racers had to be really careful not to flip over coming off the wooden jumps on the straightaway.

The course was pretty wide open, yet still very technical in spots. One wrong move could result in breakage or a rollover.

We are betting there were more female competitors this year than ever before. It was awesome to see the girls out there competing with the boys, and holding their own.

Collecting a bit of boundary tape while on course.

That brings us to the end of our photo coverage, but wait………….there’s more! Check out our full video recap from Axialfest 2018 right here:
